My french teacher asked the class "Do you think the United States are ready for a female president?"
I said no, not until that question no longer needs to be asked.

I think a female president would be great.
As long as the female isn't Hillary. :P
Oh, I think it would be wonderful but I don't think the country's ready. One question I haven't heard is "Do you think we're ready for a black president." and since I haven't heard it I am confident that we are
Then obviously you don't watch the news. :P That's pretty much all I hear from those guys, "is America ready for a black president?" "Is Obama 'black enough'?" "Will Obama get the black vote?" "Will Obama's heritage hurt his standing with the black community?" As well as the various "will his addiction to cigarettes hurt his chances?" "FOX News reports that he attended a Muslim extremist training school" etc etc.
The problem with Hillary isn't that she's a woman, it's that nobody really likes her. A good number of people that support her only support her because she's a woman. She's popular enough to win the Democratic nomination but she could get slaughtered in the general election if the Republicans reorganize and stop bickering among themselves, which could happen. And if it does I'm not sure if the Democratic party will risk running her.
